Pylum Chordata ( some traits in chordata are only prenatal )
  • has gill-like structures called pharyngeal slits
  • has a dorsal nerve cord

  • offspring are not born with a true placenta, less developed

  • offspring are born into a marsupium (pouch inside the mothers belly)
